Bill on the hot seat? Stop it...

Bill Belichick is the greatest coach of all time he has coached for 48 years professionally and has been the head coach of the New England Patriots for 23 years. Belichick has 31 wins in the playoffs along with 298 wins all time. Putting Belichick up to 329 total wins 19 short of Don Shula at 347 total wins. Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 1991-1995, followed by being the defensive head coach from 1997-1999 for the New York Jets. Until he landed with the Patriots in the year 2000 and won 6 super bowl championships on 9 super bowl appearances. 13 appearances in the AFC championship game. and 17 AFC East division titles. Belichick was the coach of the year 3 times and paired with Tom Brady became the greatest duo in all of professional sports. Tom on the offense and Bill on the defense.

The notion of Bill Belichick being on the hot seat is pure comedy...

Click bait being driven by the sports media world. Is there urgency absolutely! The Patriots since the departure of Tom Brady have been a laughing stock compared to their prior standard. The standard set, by Belichick himself the standard of the Patriot way. Tom Brady was a massive part of this, having Brady bought in as being a piece in the greater system removed any ego from the culture of the locker room. The Patriots were one unit one well oiled machine. If other players in the locker room saw Brady getting chewed out by Belichick they would be humbled knowing that the greatest player of all time is also apart of the system that is the Patriot way.

Belichick is trying to restore this culture. That is why he did not go over price to bring in the likes of Deandre Hopkins, while people are obsessed with his stubbornness he has the track record to prove he knows what he is doing. Hopkins is a great player, he would help this offense a lot, but the offense was already a mess last year, bringing in this super star could alter the mentality of the locker room and send it into disarray, to Bill the culture he wants is the most important thing to him. He knows if guys can just buy in to what he is saying then the team will be successful.

The decision of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge running the offense was undoubtedly a mistake. Bill Belichick owned up to it at the end of the season saying it all falls on me. The fact that they were connected to O'Brien from the jump leads me to believe the two had spoken prior to the 2022 season, they knew there would be a reunion and Belichick had to bridge the year. So he took Patricia who was being paid buy the Lions to keep him off their books and instated him for the year. The experiment failed miserably but it got one OC out to bring in the guy that they wanted. Bill O'Brien. Now with O'Brien at the helm of the offense and Mayo and Steve Belichick running the defense Bill can really hone in on decision making where he really can thrive.

Final point on this issue, Robert Kraft got egg on his face once already. Letting the greatest player of all time walk in free agency. When he explicitly wanted to stay in New England, but the Patriots did not want to give him a two year deal. Brady would go on to win a seventh super bowl championship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Patriots would get obliterated in a single playoff game by the Buffalo Bills and be absent from the playoffs ever since. If Belichick were to leave because of being on a "hot seat" and he ended up in Los Angeles with the Chargers for the sake of argument. If you took Brandon Staley and replaced him with Bill Belichick they would win a super bowl in the same division as the Kansas City Chiefs. Bill running that defense with the elite weapons and QB in Justin Herbert the Chargers would be straight dynamite coming out of the the AFC West. This would put egg on the face of Kraft not once but now twice, I just cannot see Robert Kraft letting that happen again.
