Red Sox: Through the month of May

The Boston Red Sox just concluded they're second full month of the Major League Baseball regular season. According to Sam Kennedy the president of the Boston Red Sox who was just on the Greg Hill morning radio show, 93.7 WEEI, he was quoted saying "Traditionally you want to see what your team looks like through memorial day" (6/1/2023) looking at what we have seen so far, the Boston Red Sox look exactly like a .500 team. Not to say they can't improve however. The Boston Red Sox have been known for they're offense throughout the beginning of the regular season. Throughout the month of April the Boston Red Sox were the second highest scoring team in Baseball behind the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox could tangle with anybody despite issues with they're starting rotation, based on the high flying bats! Currently the Red Sox are 4th in all of baseball in runs scored behind 1. Texas, 2. Tampa and 3. LAD.

While the bats have smoothed out a little the pitching has improved drastically. Look at Chris Sale, Sale started the season with an ERA of over 11 he has got it down to a 4.32 over the month of  may. Chris Sale has strung up multiple exemplary starts over the last month against the Guardians, Phillies, Cardinals and Padres. Alex Cora and Dave Bush have one objective over the course of the season regarding Chris Sale... KEEP HIM HEALTHY! When Chris Sale is himself he is the ace of this rotation and the Boston Red Sox could win the wild card if they make it on the back of Chris Sale and these bats.

If the Red Sox bats can comeback to consistent dominance and more starters take the leap like Sale the Boston Red Sox have a formula for success to build a competitive unit in a battle worn AL EAST.
