Celtics: Rebuilding a Shambled Coaching Staff

        



    The wound is still fresh for the 2023 Boston Celtics its hard to write positively these days about my Boston Sports Teams. Eccept for holding on to some hope for the next Patriots season. At this point for the Boston Celtics and Brad Stevens moves have already started just a week after the great reckoning in game 7 of the Eastern conference finals. 

   Sam Cassell has been added to coach Joe Mazzulla's coaching staff. Sam Cassell played for the Boston Celtics once upon a time. Cassell won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 one of three championships he won in his career. This hire should be a huge help in a locker room that really was losing all leadership and veteran presence. The players thrived under Ime Udoka and his staff which was comprised of former players. Something about it having veteran players on the coaching staff command more respect to the players on the team and can grow discipline and team dynamic. 

    Wyc Grossbeck and Brad Stevens definitely know that their work is cut out for them when it comes to building a coaching staff around Joe Mazzulla that can command the locker room primarily, get this team to make adjustments when plan A doesn't work out, and of course find they're defense identity that they lost in the 2023 season. 

    Just looking at the coaches that walked out the door the list is exorbitant. When Danny Ainge left for the Utah Jazz he brought his lead candidate Will Hardy with him. Following Hardy of course Ime Udoka and his whole scandal happened. Following this came Damon Stoudamire who gets lost in all of this. The players looked up to Stoudamire a great deal and when he landed the job at Georgia Tech as a head coach he was out of Boston. Rumors are out as well now that coaches on the Celtics that were under Ime Udoka are potentially leaving to join Udoka in Houston. 

    There is a steep hill to climb for the Boston Celtics and rebuilding this staff. And for big reason I can't say it enough leadership needs to be driven in to the very talented Boston Celtics players.  On paper they built the most talented team in the league but that was just it the Celtics were a group of talented individuals that lacked the team work and discipline to get the job done and the Miami heat made them pay. The Celtics need to go back to the Red Auerbach method and get a team that's dynamic that is more than the sum of its parts.

       The Boston Red Sox started off their 2025 regular season campaign on March 27th against the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers. The Sox had lofty expectations headed into the Regular Season. Notable additions being super star left handed pitcher Garret Crochet, 2 time World Series champion Walker Buehler and Houston Astros super star 3rrd baseman Alex Bregman.     The Boston Red Sox put up a fantastic showing on opening day with a 5 inning performance from Garret Crochet giving up 2 earned and 5 hits. Not the strongest but with Garret Whitlock in the rotation the Red Sox were able to weather the Ranger offense until the dynamic duo of Kristian Campbell and Wilyer Abreu showed up and showed out. Kampbell in the late innings came up huge with competitive at bats leading to his first base hit and and set up walk. Week 1 Pats/Bengals

          The NFL season has kicked off with the New England Patriots heading into the Jungle, Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati Ohio. The Patriots started the week as the biggest underdog in the slate of NFL games this week. I am no gambler but to the loyal Foxboro faithful, congratulations on cashing in on a major upset. Yes the New England Patriots coming off a 4-13 season went into Paycor and upset the 2022 AFC Championship winner,     Honestly the absence of Mac Jones under center cannot be understated. Jacoby Brissett is not behind the best offensive line in the league. Most would argue that on paper they are one of if not THE worst unit in the league. Brissett under pressure made some clutch throws. Hanging in the pocket and making some big time throws to players such as Austin Hooper who led the team in receiving guards with 31 yards. Landslide on Lansdowne!

             The 40-42 Boston Red Sox had lofty expectations going into the 2025 Major League Baseball season. After key free agency signings of Alex Bregman, Walker Buehler, and Aroldis Chapman, trading for Superstar Left hander Garret Crochet, the return of Garret Whitlock, and Trevor Story, the Boston Red Sox had immense buzz, and optimism leading into the Regular Season. With Juan Soto leaving the division, and Gerrit Cole going down with a Tommy John surgery in early March, the path was paved for not only a Wild Card berth, but even competition for the division.
